Hand Dyed Silk Needlework Threads

Hand-dyed silk embroidery threads – these are beautiful, mostly very shiny threads made of animal fibers. These break through their structure the light in a very special way, which can change the effect of a color depending on the light. The shine is thus “captured” in the thread and is not lost by frequent washing and ironing.

Our base threads come almost exclusively from Au ver a Soie in Paris ® and are known worldwide to be of highest quality for needlework threads.

It is spun of short silk fibres and relatively “elastic” and will easily lay flat on the fabric. The single thread is slightly thicker than the more well-known stranded cotton, but much softer and more “fluffy”. It creates a very smooth surface.
